ID found!

September 21, 2007

Chers Amis,

Just a quick update on our little scaly visitor from yesterday before we scoot out to mass.  He is a Brown Snake Storeria dekayi. Hat tip to my recently acquired (thanks, Priya!)  Snakes of Georgia poster  from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and Georgia Power.  Brown snakes are very small – only 6-13" and are typically found in leaf litter.  They are also very cute as far as snakes go 🙂  Got to run!

Yeah! I’m so glad you identified it! We’ve found 2 snakes this year and haven’t been able to identify either of them.
