A Room with a View – The Loveliness of Windows

January 19, 2007

100_0912Chers Amis,

Sf151_2Margaret in snowy Minnesota proposed sharing pictures of the view from our kitchen sinks yesterday in Everything and the kitchen sink.

After all, the kitchen sink is where we live, breathe, pray, watch the children playing out back, and (if you’re like me) heave the occasional sigh.

I love this perspective. It is my best vantage point to survey the comings and goings of my little adventurers, to see the Red bud’s violet cloud come spring, to oversee splashing in dh’s hot tub or watch the autumn rain of leaves.  It it the brightest spot on our main floor and often graced by a puddle of yellow sun spray.  It is my center of operations and, to quote Hank the Cow dog, ranch security.  I especially love it as our window is a new addition/renovation to our aging moulin after an incident with a golf ball 🙂
