Week 8: Picking Paint Colors for the Exterior
I am sorry that I haven’t posted any pictures since our sinkhole excavation in week 6, but there is a HUGE “30 yarder” i.e. construction dumpster in the MIDDLE of our driveway blocking any view of the house – and access to the garage
Last week we actually made forward progress on the exterior too even though I don’t have pictures to prove it. We had new (as in working!!) garage doors installed while DH removed our old ugly shutters, finished designing the new shutters, built and painted one mock up, and purchased and cut the lumber for the shutters for all 6 windows! No small feat! His main focus (outside of regular work) is priming and assembling the shutters before the painters show up. We shall see. .. .
Out house painter brought samples of several colors for the exterior out Friday nite. Le moulin is currently a light (faded) gray with white (dingy) trim. Since we are virtually buried in the trees we want to pick a color that will stand out and look natural at the same time. We are leaning towards either a blue gray or a gray green. The bluer gray sam
ples we tried were WAY to blue. Ick! We did like Sherwin-Williams Wall Street #7665. It looks much bluer on the house than in this color visualizer. Hmm. We also tried Dried Thyme which looked great
on the swatch and far too minty on the house! We haven’t given up on a green and are going to try SW Connected Gray and the darker SW Eclipse. So would you go bluish gray or greenish gray for a little moulin in the woods?

Tout cela prend forme, dis donc ! J’attends les photos avant d’y venir !
I just hope that everything is done – or mostly done before you get here and that you will still come even if it’s not
You didn’t answer though, bleu gris or gris vert?
